JOBS WITH FRIENDS–Q&A with Chris Russell

This week Call to Career interviews Chris Russell about his new website that just launched called Jobs with Friends.

Why did you create it?

I created Jobs with Friends because referrals are still the number one way people find work. And I realized that there was a hole in the referral market. There were no tools to help you find and ask for referrals. So Jobs with Friends was born after several months of coding and design.

Who’s it for?

It’s for anyone who wants to leverage their existing connections in their job hunt. Why job hunt alone when you tap into the people you already know?

Why should people use it?

Because it will help you get a job faster. Studies have shown that if you know someone who works there you will get hired 55% faster than unknown candidates. Jobs with Friends also forces you to “company hunt” which I think is ultimately a better job search strategy.

Is there evidence that using Jobs with Friends actually increases the likelihood of job seekers finding new employment faster?

Well there is plenty of evidence that if you know someone who works there you have a much better shot at getting hired. Jobs with Friends certainly facilitates that process.
